Route & accommodations
I spent three nights in Singapore at the end of September, arriving from India and continuing on to Bali. Singapore was a short but intentional stop in between, giving me time to reset, slow down, and ease into the next chapter of my travels.
Arrival
I arrived late in the evening, which made my first night more about rest than exploring. Because Singapore is compact and well connected, I did not move around much in terms of locations. Instead, I split my stay into two very different accommodation experiences, both in central areas with easy access to public transport.
Night 1: Capsule Hotel (I paid 84.17 SGD)
For my first night, I stayed at The Cube Social Boutique Capsule Hotel. Since I arrived very late, falling asleep was no problem at all. The stay was honestly much better than expected. The capsule was super clean and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were spotless as well. I also completely lucked out, because there were only four capsules in my room, which made the whole experience quiet and relaxed.
The next morning, I was able to:
Do laundry using the free washing machine and dryer
Enjoy a Starbucks coffee on the small rooftop terrace
Slowly pack up and reset after the long journey from India
For a budget stay in an expensive city like Singapore, this capsule hotel felt safe, practical, and surprisingly pleasant. The hotel has several branches. I stayed in Boat Quay which is located next to a street known for partying - since I was only staying one night, I did not mind, it’s just something to consider.
Nights 2 and 3: Marina Bay Sands (I paid 2,829.64 SGD)
After checking out, I made my way to Marina Bay Sands, where I stayed for the next two nights. The transition from a low budget capsule hotel to one of the most iconic luxury hotels in the world felt almost surreal.
I had never experienced anything like this before.
From the moment I arrived, the service and staff were outstanding, and I genuinely felt pampered throughout my stay. I tried to spend as much time as possible at the hotel itself, especially at the infinity rooftop pool, which was open from 6am until midnight.
Swimming above the city skyline, watching the light change throughout the day, and soaking in the atmosphere felt incredibly special. It was the kind of experience that makes you slow down and fully enjoy where you are.
If it fits your budget, I would absolutely recommend staying at Marina Bay Sands at least once. It is not just a hotel, but an experience in itself.
Note:
Prices across Singapore were higher than usual during my stay due to the upcoming Formula 1 race weekend. Accommodation in particular was significantly more expensive, especially around Marina Bay, so booking early or avoiding big events like that can make a big difference.
